Conscious Parenting with Nina Cruz

December 1, 2022

Our guest today is Nina Cruz, a certified conscious parent coach, social worker & Meditation teacher whose mission is to support parents in building healthy connections with their children. She does this by teaching them conscious parenting, where they heal their own childhood wounds so they can consciously raise empowered children.

In today’s episode, we discuss…

  • Conscious parenting as an experience
  • Bringing awareness to what is happening inside yourself when you react in certain ways, especially in response to your children
  • Bringing your own experience of being parented to your parenting, whether intentionally or not
  • The overflow of parenting skills into all other parts of your life
  • Childhood dominant emotional experiences like powerlessness, unworthiness, or feelings of not being enough
  • Living the same patterns over and over until we hit some sort of challenge or barrier that triggers us to change
  • Our ego gets “noisy” when we start to really examine ourselves
  • Being compassionate toward ourselves when we start to see patterns, even if we don’t like them
  • Using conscious breathing and pausing or stopping entirely
  • Feeling out of control within and trying to control our children as a result
  • Shame in parenting and using conscious parenting to prevent it
  • Documenting memories and parenting wins to remind yourself of the good instead of only the parenting fails
  • Helping our children experience us in the way we want them to experience us
  • Building the muscle of living in the moment

So, if you want a question answered live on the podcast, send me an email, pop your question into a DM, or text me at 623-257-MOMS (that’s 623-257-6667). I cannot wait to answer all your burning questions.

Nina says that when a parent’s inner world shifts, their outer world changes, transforming the parent–child dynamic from chaos and control to worth and connection. Parents who gain a new sense of awareness through inner transformation create a new blueprint for themselves and their children. This is why one of Nina’s greatest passions is to guide parents to do their own ‘inner work’ so their children can be free to live out their authentic destinies.
